Dr. Appling
Dr. Rhonda Appling was born and raised in Carlsbad, NM. Her love and compassion towards animals developed at a very young age from the many pets that left their paw prints on her heart. She soon realized that animal health was her true passion. Rhonda moved to attend Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Animal Science. She then moved from Indiana to Colorado, where she earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Colorado State University.
After graduation, Rhonda returned to New Mexico and practiced veterianry medicine at a small animal private practice in Santa Fe until June of 2019 when she decided that Colorado was where she wanted to call home.
Rhonda enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but has a strong interest in soft tissue surgery, ultrasound, and cardiology.
Rhonda shares her home with her Olde English Bulldogge named Kussmaul, and her domestic medium hair tuxedo cat named Figaro. When not working at the hospital, Rhonda enjoys staying active by working out at the gym, where she has a strong interest in strength training and conditioning, and taking her dog and cat on walks.
