Dog Boarding

Dogs still need lots of exercise, enrichment, and care while on vacation. To provide the best care, guests are either in our Group Daycare Program or, for those who don't do well in groups, our Individual Daycare Program.

Our Group Daycare Program starts every dog with an outdoor walk before breakfast. When doggy daycare opens at 7:00am, we bring dogs to the playrooms so they can play with other dogs, all day. We walk all dogs again at 9:30am and 1:00pm. After daycare ends at 7:00pm, we serve each dog's dinner before our final evening walks.

Our Individual Daycare Program starts each dog with an outdoor walk before breakfast. Instead of group playrooms, dogs spend time with staff individually and can enjoy a stroll or play session throughout the day. We walk the dogs again at 9:30am and 1:00pm. Finally, we serve their dinner before our last evening walk.

Cat Boarding

Your cat will be fed according to your specifications and their requirements to ensure their routine is the same as it is at home.

We provide daily one-on-one interaction with kitties (if they want it!) including play, snuggles, and pets. Litter boxes are checked, cleaned and disinfected periodically throughout the day.

Additionally, we refresh linens and clean your kitty's room daily. Our cat boarding area is separated from the dog area to ensure your kitty feels relaxed and safe while they stay with us.

Medical Boarding

Your pet will be supervised by our expert veterinarians in the course of their stay with us. We are fully equipped to ensure our guest’s medical requirements are met.

Oral medications will be administered at no charge. Injections or ear-administered medications will be given by one of our veterinarians or technicians for a nominal fee.

Your pet will be supervised by our expert veterinarians and nurses, who will also watch over your pet closely. We will try to administer your pet's medications on the same schedule they are used to at home to ensure a comfortable stay.

Your Pet is Our Special Guest

Our team of veterinary professionals at Caring Hands Veterinary Hospital & Hospitality Center are serious animal lovers! We thoroughly enjoy giving our boarders and daycare participants all the attention and care they deserve while they're staying with us in our bright and modern boarding facility.

  • How do I enroll my pet in daycare?

Here's what you need to know if you'd like your pet to take part in our daycare program:

    Introduction Day

A manager or supervisor introduces each dog on their first day. We do this on leash with our other attendants to monitor the dog's temperament, behavior, body language, and interactions with people and other dogs. We carefully ensure everyone's safety while allowing the dog to make their own decisions throughout the day.

If everything goes well, we contact the owners after midday to let them know their dog is perfect for daycare or day boarding. We do all this to keep the resort safe and fun for everyone!

    Canine Vaccinations:

All pets must be up to date on the following vaccinations:

    • Rabies
    • Distemper/Parvo
    • Leptospirosis
    • Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
    • Canine Influenza

**Please have vaccination history emailed to resort@caringhandsveterinary.com or faxed to 303-452-7387 before check-in.**

    Age

Guests must be at least four months old and current on vaccines.

    Reproductive Status

Female dogs over 6 months of age must be spayed.

Intact male dogs will be accepted on a case-by-case basis

    Dress Code

For the safety of our guests, all leashes, collars, harnesses and clothes might be removed during play time.

    • Comfy, cozy beds for each guest
    • Clean towels, blankets, and bowls
    • Individual space for each pet

    • Outdoor play area
    • Daily walks
    • Grooming
    • Ample daily playtime with staff
    • Special diet accommodations
  • Is there a discount for boarding multiple animals at once?

Yes! We offer a 20% discount on each additional pet. The first pet is full price, and then the 2nd, 3rd, or any other additional pets are 20% off.

  • Is there a limit to the number of pets I can board at a time?

We have a large facility and are able to accommodate several animals at once, provided you give us sufficient notice.

Depending on the circumstances, we may be able to board family members (canine/canine or feline/feline) together.

  • How much does pet boarding cost?

Our boarding costs include a nightly boarding fee and a daily care fee. We do this so that if you drop off in the evening (4:30pm-7pm) or pick up in the morning (7am-9:30am), you are not paying for a full day of care. Instead, you only pay our nightly boarding fee for that night.

Every one of our canine guests will be walked at least 4 times throughout each day. They will be either in our group daycare program or our individual day boarding program from 7:00am-7:00pm where they receive at least two walks in addition to either daycare or treadmill runs. In the morning, the dogs are all walked before breakfast and before daycare. In the evening, the dogs are all walked again after dinner and before bedtime (9:00pm-5:00am)

    • Canine Nightly Boarding Fee (Standard): $30/night

  • What time should I drop off and pick up my pet?

All pets must be dropped off or picked up during regular office hours. Reservations are recommended, especially for holidays and summer weekends. During these times, we recommend that you call 2-3 weeks in advance to increase the chance that a spot will be available.

  • What should I pack for my pet?

Food: We encourage clients to pack their own food, so that your dog does not upset their stomach from having to switch their diet. If you do not have food, or your pup does well on most diets, we do offer Hill’s Science Diet brand food as our “House Food.” If you do pack your own food, it may be easier to individually pre-pack it, but we will also accept containers of food and even bags in most cases.

Medication: If your pet takes medication, please bring it along for our staff to
administer. All medication must be in its original bottle or packaging, and not portioned out.

Toys & Bedding: We always provide every comfort to the pets in our care,
including fun toys and comfortable bedding. Of course, we accept toys and bedding from home as well, as it certainly can bring comfort to dogs and cats to have a slice of home with them during their stay. We do ask that everyone try to limit toys to 3 items, and bedding to 2 items, but we understand it can be very hard to choose!

  • Can I get updates about my pet during their stay?

Yes, feel free to call us during your pet's stay for updates. If there is a problem, we will contact you via the emergency contact information you provide.

If you would like a more detailed update including photos, we do offer daily report cards for a fee of $5.00.

  • How should I prepare for my pet's stay?

Each animal is different. To prepare for your pet's stay with us, we'll take the following steps to ensure that we can meet their unique needs.

Step 1: Contact us to get started

Call us to book, and to discuss details about your pet and your boarding needs. A member of our team will be happy to to coordinate your booking.

Please note that, due to the nature of our accommodations, we do not accept unaltered female dogs. Pets must be up to date with all vaccinations and free of fleas and ticks to stay at our facility.

Step 2: Book a trial stay

We want to be absolutely sure that we are a good fit for your pet before an extended stay. The trial stay consists of a full day of daycare where we can take the time to assess your pet's temperament and make sure they fit in with the pack.

Step 3: Set your pet up for success

On the day you drop your pet off with us, there are a few steps you can take to help reduce any stress your pet may feel.

Spend some extra time with your pet beforehand, and make sure they get some vigorous exercise so that they are feeling calm. When you arrive at our facility, stay calm, cheerful and confident during the separation.
