Dr. Kay was born in the Midwest and raised in a small town in Connecticut. After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in neuroscience from Brown University, she spent a year in Telluride, Colorado before returning to the Midwest to attend veterinary school at Michigan State University.Upon graduation Gretchen moved to Colorado and completed a yearlong internship at Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital with emphasis on emergency, internal medicine, and surgery .
Dr. Kay’s professional interests include internal and emergency medicine, preventative care, ophthalmology and soft tissue surgery. She is happy to be back in Colorado and enjoys running, hiking, tennis and skiing. Gretchen shares her Northwest Denver home with her cat Biggie, and dog Sadie.
